LOL yes he did. He's kind of rough on the electronics!

Glad to hear your first trial went well!

Today was an E-free day! No eliminations handed out to us, hooray!

We only got 2/5 sets of weave poles throughout the day, but she stayed with me on every single run, and ran happily the whole time (except in weavers when I was an idjit and made her redo weaves multiple times...one day I'll learn). We Q'd 4/6 runs, even though it was blazing hot and my poor fluffy black dog was melting in the building with no AC.

First trial. First time running indoors. First time running on dirt. First time running anywhere other than our club. AND.....

First Q!

What a good girl. .3 behind first place with a bobble on two tunnels. If she hadn't bobbled I think we would've gotten it. And all the other dogs in the class were new to USDAA but had been running AKC a while. Good girl.

Now I'm tired.

Also, a couple weeks ago, I was working the Starters/Advanced ring for my club's trial (I couldn't afford to enter myself, so I just went out and worked all day), and we had the most amazingly supportive judge I've ever encountered in my life. Her name was Ann Kitchen, and she was maybe the most +R person I've ever come across, she had a nice comment for every team in her ring. So I'd recommend that any newbie starting out who has the chance to enter under her, do so.
I had to double take because I remembered this post and indeed we started under Ann. She was judging everything I was in today. Super super nice judge! I really enjoyed her. She also thanked all the volunteers after every height and would tell us how much she appreciated the help and had all the competitors clap for the volunteers.

Yeah really like her a lot and I overheard a lot of people talking about how much they liked her.

I am so, so happy for you and for your girls! A Q your first time out is amazing, and having both dogs run with you and stay with you all three runs is even more impressive!

I have friend who run Cavaliers, and often get stuck in the same position of running multiple dogs with very few spaces (or none) between them. One thing they do that works in most venues for them is to carry a small crate up by the ring so they can put one dog in and take the other out. No running back to the tent/RV, no handing dogs off to other people. I'm not sure it would work in every setting, or if your girls crate happily, but it's an idea.

That's actually what I decided to try out tomorrow. I didn't think of it at all today but I brought my two wire crates and then also my travel crates. I'm going to set up one of the travel crates and crate Summer then switch dogs. My dogs don't really crate quietly but there were lots of barking dogs down there today. See if that helps some.

Thanks! I'm really happy with my dogs. They're good girls.
