The first 24 hours did not go off without a hitch. Woke up to one dead RIR. Store replaced it with an even more feisty one. Orps don't know whats coming.

One of the Welsummers seems to be straining to poop. Its vent is a bit swollen, and you can see poop at the entrance. Its not a blockage, it comes out, and you can clean it off. A bit of pressure doing that, and sometimes a bit more does.

Is this the equivalent to pasting up? It does not have a lot of down left at 3 weeks for it to stick to, and I've seen it reach around and remove anything bothering it.

Eats fine, seems to drink, although I don't often see any of the 6 drink.

Keep an eye on the poo problem one. It'll probably grow out of it, but that's the sort of thing that can turn into pasty butt. It sounds like the bird has a good handle on grooming though, so that's encouraging.

And pics! We need them!

New brooder. 5ft diameter tree pot.

Thermometer dead center reads about 100 and down to about 70 on the sides. They seem to be finding a decent area to sit in.
