Those videos of Zuma are great Sara, very nice!!

Speaking of bad associations... I set up my weave set in the backyard yesterday for the first time. Opened them all the way up to refresh Recon on running down the middle (weave o matic style) and called him over to the beginning. He kind of slithered by me all calming like and afraid and went and sat by the door. I had just gone out there, I know he can be sensitive, but had no idea what
I had done. Walked him over, tried running him down the middle and he had no part of it. Ended up doing better at a later try, but I just gave up at that point and let him unwind.

Well, as I was walking outside past my weaves at 5 or 6 am today with a diarrhea-covered Recon from and upset stomach, I realized I had walked to the hose to spray goose poop off him for the first time less than a week ago, and it was near the entrance to the weaves as I had set them up. And so he thought I was calling him over to spray him. Poor sensitive guy. I felt so bad for getting frustrated after that AND for having to hose him off again.

He ended up running down them a few times so I was happy. Did some trouble shooting with Frag on weaves and he had them the closest they've ever been! I
Have a video I'll have to get up. I'm hoping to make a lot of Frag/weave progress with these! We're starting to trial again late this month.

After an hour (with breaks) of training and tweaking we're getting back to a very nice percentage of 6straight poles. My reward line and spacing of poles has helped a lot. Here we are, tired Lemur does da weavers:

I finally got some Webby video

Standard Q which became a QQ later in the day with a blue in Jumpers (no vid of Jumpers, unfortunately). He's no Zuma (have I mentioned how much I adore her?) but he's come a long way and it's amazing what continuous motion and efficiency can do. He picked up 18 MACH points and 2nd place (full disclosure: small 16" entry, low Q rate) on this run. For non-AKCers that means he was 18-point-something seconds under standard course time. Not our best effort (he's been steadily in the low 20s lately) but respectable and he's never trialed in this location ever before, either, and that sort of thing bothers him.

Still...Webby video!!!

So I am pretty bummed out because I am becoming more and more sure that Pan has ETS. I have suspected it ever since we started jump training but I have been trying to deny it and train through it, which doesn't work. Booo.

So this 30 Days program is kind of weird. Payton isn't sure what to make of it. It has me basically walking/running in a line, then on a marker he is supposed to immediately down when I tell him as I keep running away. We've never done anything like that so he's like "Wait what??" He will stop when I tell him down and then just stand there looking confused LOL.

I get that it's proofing the dog to stop on the contact while you keep moving but... hm. Not sure I'm on board yet but I'm giving it a fair shot...

What Webby lacks in superspeed he makes up in supercute lol. I don't know you can really see but when he stands sillouetted on the table for a bit it should be fairly obvious why he can't transition from running to jumping smoothly, and why he can't really extend out when he runs. He can bounce and trot all day though...and his vertical leap is fabulous...he'd have made a fun disc dog lol. He's fun in agility too but for different reasons. We only really place on tight, trappy courses where efficiency is better than speed and the much faster Shelties drop like flies. Which was the case on this day...only 30 or so dogs in the class and most of the fast ones NQ'd or wasted time with wide turns.

Me and Talon had our very first agility class last night! ^_^ I have to say he did way better than I did

We worked a lot on getting more control for start lines. We basically had the dog sit by our side, had them stay until they would look forward to the lid with a treat on it though the jump (there was no bar, just the side poles), and then release them. As tehy got better we worked on moving in front and releaseing them. I messed it up a few times >_< but Talon did pretty darn good. We also worked a bit on control off leash and toy drive, but Talon already has it so that's not a problem lol. There was a standard poodle mix, a beagle, a rottie/lab/? mix, and then us. ^_^ I think we are going to have one more person next week though.

So I've been working hard on Talon only realsing to his release word, he will sometimes move at the slightest voice cue, even if it's not his release word. Otherwise, I think it went well! I forgot my crate, but they had a few extra's since the dogs are crated between turns.
