Default Look at this food's ingredients

Since I'm no longer going to be feeding natural balance anymore, I bought a bag of natures variety instinct L.I.D lamb for Cricket to try but holy crap it was nearly $70 for the bag which is doable, but with 3 dogs to feed and a cat that is on a raw diet, its not preferable to spend quite that much if I can avoid it but of course I will if I have to.

Our food representative came to my work today and asked how Cricket has been doing since we have talked about her allergies before. I explained the whole ordeal with natural balance and del Monte and that I'm on the hunt for a new food, but trying to find something that isn't going to completely cost a fortune either. She mentioned that I look into Zignature and that she has heard really good things about their limited ingredients diet. She gave me samples and a brochure and told me to contact her if I'm interested.

If I was to switch to this food I would get it at cost and not retail and it would be roughly $45-47ish for a 27 lb for me. I can't get the natures variety at cost because we order our food through a company that doesnt offer that brand yet.

But.... I'm not super ingredient savvy so want your input and if you know anything about the brand. I feel like I've asked about this food before, but can't find the thread if I did.

The one we would be looking at getting is the lamb one since she does pretty well on lamb.

Here's the ingredient list

Eh, I'm not crazy about the "at cost" price per pound for what you're getting with the food, but I wouldn't call it a bad food.

ETA: Also, I'm not sure how much you feed Cricket currently, but you'll have to feed more of the Zignature than the NVI

That's a lot of peas, not horrible though.

She currently eats roughly 1/2 cup in the morning and 3/4 cup in the evening

So long as she's not allergic to peas (I know several dogs who are).

Peas, pea flour, pea protein, chickpeas. Lots of peas. o.0 But if Cricket takes it well, it shouldn't really be a problem. I think the food is okay, but pretty pricey! Better than the $70 bag you mentioned, though.

I would be a little concerned about how much protein is coming from meat and how much is coming from peas. But that's your call and you can always give it a try.

I was going to agree with the amount of "peas". If it agrees with Cricket, then okay but watch for any allergies. When I changed to a food with lots of "peas", mine got very itchy and licking all the time.

It's a lot of peas, but NatBal is a lot of potato so... similar in my eyes.

I wouldn't feel bad trying it.
