Joey was technically a rehome. I was picking him up for Ibizan Rescue and I paid $150 for him which Ibizan Rescue was going to refund me for and he was going to go to a foster. He felt so right for me though and when Josh agreed I talked to Ibizan Rescue and was told if I wanted to keep him that that was fine. Would I pay $150 for him again if I had it to do again? Of course.

For the right dog I'm willing to pay what I have to up to a certain dollar amount. He was worth every penny and then some.

Within reason I suppose. Bandit was free. I like that price for a rehome.

I think you ought to do what your heart tells you to do if your heart tells you this is the right dog, and not worry about what anyone thinks.

I would, if effort was put into the dog before it came to me. If the dog was perfectly trained, in prime health, young, UTD on vaccines, and came with all supplies needed...I would have nothing wrong with paying a $100-$300 rehoming fee.

For example, when I rehomed Seabees, I asked for a rehoming fee of $100, I think...but I had just gotten her spayed and UTD on all of her vaccines, started her on flea/heartworm prevention, and was sending home some heartworm prevention with her. I probably could have gotten away with asking $150-$200 for her, honestly, with the "value" of the stuff she was going with. But I didn't, because finding her a good home was more important to me than making back some of the $$$ I had spent.

Now, if I was getting an untrained dog that needed all of his veterinary work done? Doubt I'd pay much. LOL
