one of my pups (female) is timid around people - no she has not been abused - her whole line produces timid females and drivey males. got asked why i would bother to keep her as she will always be timid by nature and low drive. some people really don't get different aspects of dog ownership, yeah my girl will always be timid and low drive but i got enough maniac dogs this one i will keep and learn how to bring out her potential which will take more time to train and end up less of a dog from some peoples perspective but hey i don't care. sad that the competitive types only see the value of a dog in how many points it can get them in a trial - they miss so much about owning a dog and what they can give you.

Our previous Lab mix was shy and insecure. He was one of the gentelest, kindest dogs I've ever had. My proudest days with him was when he earned his CGC a week before his 7th birthday, and all the visits we made to a Special Ed class.
