Haha I may be in the minority but I love hound baying! And I worked with a lot at the shelter and cleaned kennels. They are just really great dogs but not for everyone.

I own a coonhound. He doesn't bay or anything unless he's fixated on something. Little puppy hound baying is adorable lol. Beagles are serious bayers too! But I really like the coonhound baying. They aren't as dramatic haha.

I remember the one and only time we had a Bloodhound board in at work. (They aren't very common in this area.) When she bayed, the entire kitchenette area vibrated. Her bay was louder and more intense than 20+ dogs barking all at once.

This is why I will never own a hound. Except for maybe a Basset, because when they bay I don't mind. LOL

I love the hound baying! I love the deepness and utter wholeness of the sound. Also why I like Zander's lower roo's and woo's. Sibes and Mal's are usually VERY chattery, but they have a normal-lower voice most of the time. Sometimes they can get higher pitched.

I like collies/koolies/etc higher squeals and screams of happiness, too. But for some reason I just can't do that glass-breaking high pitched sharp one-second bark that many toys and terriers do. It's just...brain scrambling for me.

Not sure i could cope with a persistent screamer or barker. I go insane with my two, who are whiners. They whine for just about everything!

Fred is actually now the worst, and is very vocal. It's annoying, but also very funny. He whines and growls and makes funny noises. And when he's really frustrated or excited it builds up to a proper woooooooo woo woooooooooo. Howling noise

Yes that! I have never heard a dog as loud as this one! It was actually pretty impressive in a way.
