When I actually looked into it, all of my animals were too old!

We'll be insuring as well, rather pay a bit every month than pay a huge chunk at some point.

You are the whisper in the wind, and the silence in dark.
You are the autumn rain, and the spring flowers.
You are the joy when I laugh, and the sorrow when I cry.
You are the earth beneath my feet, and the air in the sky
But most of all, you are my heart.
Run free, Beautiful Girl.

A few days ago, Blossom gulped a bit of bully stick and I had a minor panic attack over the thought of her being blocked. (She's totally fine.) So I'm seriously looking into this for my dogs now. It looks like Embrace might be the best choice for them.

I looked into some for Kiba just because she's 8.5 and had a couple scares last year, but of course she's too old. The ones I looked at would only cover if she got hit by a car.

I'm considering it. Embrace quoted my two plus futuredog at a little over $1000 a year, but Bear would only have accident coverage. I really like that they cover acupuncture and chiropractors as well as PT. Definitely something to think about. It would probably be better for Pig and futuredog though. I feel like Bear is more likely to need vet care from an illness than an accident. It might be smarter to just keep putting money aside as an emergency fund for him.

I think adding 3rd party pay to animals is going to result in prices and problems like we have with our own healthcare system. I think it's a horrible idea actually.

I have an emergency fund, the money I would pay too the insurance went into a bank account, then there wan enough of a cushion, I felt I stopped. $3000, then Gage's knees ate it up so I started again, now it's topped off again. Best thing my claim can never be denied.

I've heard decent things about VPI.

I *wish* I had gotten insurance on Piper when I got her.. she has a slight (what we think, anyway) cruciate tear and I'm really hoping she won't need surgery.. if I had insurance on her, it wouldn't be so stressful. I think it's too late now as they'd probably consider it pre-existing.. though there hasn't really been a definitive diagnosis so I'm not really sure..
