Default Snoring and snorting

Ok so this has been going on a while. I think it's been a gradual change, I'm not really sure. Summer is 8 1/2, but very active and overall very fit. Everything is good except that she is grunting and snoring and snorting a lot more than she used to. I think it's been this past year that I've noticed it. Kind of always brushed it off as reverse sneezing related- the snorting happens more when she's excited. But the snoring is definitely new. Then again, Nikki snored when she got old too. Most the time she breathes fine. Just excited- snort, asleep- snore.

Vet has seen her and I've brought it up before. He thinks she looks fantastic for a dog of her age. He's never found anything at all to be concerned about.

I had a dog who snores,
she was old then but never heard her snore
when she was young. My new german spitz never snore
but when she sneeze she's so cute!
Maybe it has something related with the age,
i mean when they get older, they do snore

Did you move about a year ago? It could be some kind of mild allergen or even having a different heating system in the house, if it's usually/mostly happening at home.

Sounds like an "older dog thing". Moses is king of snoring around here, he's worse than my mom... which is quite a feat.

Eh, I wouldn't be so fast to pass it off as an "old dog" thing. She's an 8 1/2 year old toy breed, she's not "old" (and any get trying to tell me my 8 1/2 year old toy breed dog looks good "for her age" would be seriously questioned). I'd think allergen or such first.

I'll send you Stryder, he turned 7 this year and I swear he's sounds like an old man. Grumble grumble snore sigh grumble grumble snore. And that's when he's awake!!

Well, she really does look good for her age, even for a toy breed. She looks much younger than Beau or Rose and acts it too. No one ever (even the agility folk) guesses her age correctly. They usually guess about half her actual age.

I am still concerned about the snorting thing though.
