I'd have gone with skin bond or tear mender and molefoam, stretch the ear to make it lay flat against the molefoam without any creases or pockets and leave it in until the glue comes off on its own. Never really been a fan of using BRS by themselves, personally.

I used the BRS with tear mender and medical tape.
