I didn't get all the way through this thread, what a headache... just popping in here to say that I have spent a great deal of time with an Avalon Coolie (he belongs to my best friend and I do "daycare" for him when she works, so he's basically like my 3rd dog) and he is a FANTASTIC dog! He can absolutely turn on his drive when training or out and about, but he is a very sane dog. It seemed like some people here were accusing Shawn of false advertising, but from my experience with the pup from her, he's exactly as she says her dogs are. Just had to say it!

I haven't met any of her dogs, but have joined the group where many are, and I've not seen anything false, either, through the stories, experiences, answered questions that people with puppies from her have said, and they sound like amazing all-around dogs, which is why I am hoping to add a puppy from her to my family in the future.

Hi I am new here but came across this discussion about Avalon's dogs. I have one of Shawn's coolie pups and absolutely adore this dog - she is almost five now and has had no health issues except for a little mishap she had after swallowing a cat toy when she was a pup. When I am ready for another addition to my furkid family, i will definitely consider getting another of Shawn's coolie pups. Domino is a gorgeous dog and would be great at agility, flyball or any other active sport although unfortunately my schedule hasn't allowed me to pursue these activities with her. She can easily jump a 6 foot fence and has shown absolutely no evidence of any hip dysplasia or similar issues so i just wanted to get that out there. I also think Shawn does a great job of trying to match her pups with the appropriate type of home (i.e., pet, sport, etc) rather than just selling them off to the highest bidder or shipping them off on a first come first serve basis which I think shows that she cares about the dogs that she is breeding.
