She's not. Recon is a border collie. And the picture with Sir was a joke I think.

I've tried to glue Gavroche's ears for the hell of it. It didn't stick AT ALL lol.

When I got Tully, I threatened to tape one ear to the top of her head so it would stand, and she'd have a proper one ear up/one ear down set like the Stafford I already had. Tully's breeder said okay. Which I think was partly because she really didn't care, partly because she figured I was joking, and partly because she knew it wouldn't work anyway. They were already rosed.
I do love mismatched ears, though.

Well this is how they turned out! Glued them yesterday morning and everything is still holding well, though HIS left is is still a little flippy at the top.. I may need to add a toothpick and some more glue/tape.

![]() At an agility trial early on, someone once asked me: "Does it bother you that his ears don't match?" I said no, I liked them, and she said, "it would drive me crazy!" Which I'm guessing is why she has cropped Great Danes.

I wouldn't use a toothpick or anything hard. Too much risk for injury that way. I'm not really sure what you could use since I have no experience gluing/taping for erect ears that aren't cropped, but definitely make sure that whatever you use is somewhat pliable. I know for Dobe puppies, a lot people seem to use backer rod wrapped with duct tape for sturdiness. That way it's stiff, but the ear can still be played with and bent without getting injured.
