In no particular order.

1 - Labs

2 - Border Terriers

3 - Finnish Lapphunds

4 - Kelpie

5 - Tibetan Mastiff

6 - Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (because I think Duke and a Toller look good together )

7 - Ibizan Hound

8 - Beauceron

9 - Koolies, even if I'll likely never have one. Still a favourite.

k that was really hard to just get 9.

7. Border Collie
8. GSD
9. Whippet (smooth, or a LHW)
10. Greyhound

Ask me tomorrow and you will probably get some different ones. 10 is not enough.
Oh, heh. This is one of those things where you learn a lot and go...erm. Prolly not.

I honestly don't even know if I could come up with 10 at this point. And most of them are not on the above list.

Ones from the above that would still make the list:
Quote:
1. Pit Bull (rescue only, potentially even foster only)
3. Jack Russell Terrier (welp, that happened )
4. Australian Cattle Dog (this one is a HUGE maybe and it would be an adult rescue)
9. Whippet (smooth, or a LHW)
10. Greyhound
Part of the issue with most of these dogs too (pit bulls/sighthounds) is that I really need dogs that can tolerate the cold. Because Minnesota.

Also, I don't see us adding another dog until Frodo passes. Certainly not another puppy until he passes at least. So I have another 7+ years to think about what I want, so I'm not formulating a list now.

Surprised at all the Kelpie want

Crazed, you know you have first dibs on Gwen and you can always come visit!

These are sort of in order, but I haven't met enough of any of them to know, it's mainly what I've heard or researched.

1. Corgi (it fits a lot of the qualifications I have for my next dog, but I want to meet more)
2. Another Kelpie (They're not 'my' breed, but how can I not be attached after Gwen?)
3. Snowdog or Zander (BF loves them and if/when we move to a cooler place, with a yard, we would probably get one)
4. Aussie (love the herding breeds)
5. Poodle (I prefer the standards, not much on 'mini' anything)
6. Schipperke (It fits the small size and BF's 'snowdog' thing, but it might be over my head)
7. Westie (They're so cute!)
8. Airedale Terrier (Just on looks and size, really)

8.

As far as actually owning any of these.... the Corgi is the only realistic one right now. We tend to envy a lot of the rarer breeds, which I know will not end up in our laps. Not any time soon. So I try to stick to breeds that are 'common'. I have some favorites, but, again, rare so I don't want to get my hopes up. I am hoping once I go to a show or event where there are many breeds, I'll figure out which ones suite me. I'm probably way off base right now

ANCDs are not barkers at all! At least speaking from my experience. Yarrow pretty much never barks, and the rare occasion that he does, it's more like this deep howl/bark...not really a real bark.

1. Bouvier
2. Standard Poodle

Right now the list pretty much ends there because the next one will be a biggish dog, lol. And in all likelihood unless I am in a position to show and do confirmation the next one will be another free o good home dog, probably a doodlemutt of some sort.

1. English Shepherd because....well...he is awesome.

*In no real order*

2. Australian Shepherd. I really like the ones on this board, nothing like the dogs where I grew up. Everyone here seems to have nice, stable dogs. Not like the lunatics back home.

3. Border Collie. I do have a deep, secret love to BCs that are well bred. My mom called me one day to tell me about a BC she had at work that was the nicest dog ever.

4. Papillons. They seem like such happy little dogs with such a zest for life. I need a serious dog and a happy dog.

5. Sighthounds. I know, not a breed, but I love to look at 'Zois, Silkens, LH Whippets and I'd love to have an ex-racer Grey. Love them. Love them so much, but the husband doesn't like the look of sighthounds and at this time we don't have a good place for them to run around of leash and there is nothing more beautiful than a sighthound running.

6. Berger Picard. Had my heart set on one as my next dog, because I do really like them, but it didn't work out. Maybe in the future.

7. Texas Lacey. I don't think I'll ever actually be able to do a Lacey justice, but man did I love Peco. Once we got out of the puppy stage and he stopped chewing everything, he became the perfect dog. Loved his people, protective, super smart.

8. Rottweiler. I adore rotties. I don't know if I'd ever be a good match for them, so I'll just love all the ones I see from afar.

9. GSD. I don't know anything about the types & lines, but grew up with them and I will always have a soft spot for them.

10. Standard poodle. I don't really know about this one, but hey, I reached 10 and I could totally see myself owning one someday.
Show the hubby pics of well built muscly coldbloods or stags killing a coyote. It'll raise his testosterone level and hopefully make them more appealing.

My list is still pretty bang on, although I have decided to go with a Boerboel and not a Cane Corso. And Airedale does not seem to tickle my fancy anymore. And I would love a papillion, maybe some day.

I am going to add an older Pit bull to my list in the place of an airedale.

And in place of a Border Collie I would place a Kelpie.

6. Ibizan hound

The more I'm around Siri (yes, that whole ONE week so far ) the more I kinda feel like maybe I'm gonna want a large terrier O.o

So I think Airdale is one that we MAY see on my list eventually.
