...make it easy to rip sutures out despite a cone.
Saturday I was shoveling out the driveway and left Venice crated with the bf. She pulled her bandage off and pulled a few stitches loose (but not clean out). We went to the clinic to have it checked in case she damaged herself even more. There wasn't really much to be done as the stitches were supposed to come out Tuesday, so the vet just snipped the loose ones out since they weren't doing anything anymore. That was my fault, I should have put her cone on even with the bf hanging out with her. So when we left to walk Claire, we crated her with the cone... and came home to find she had ripped her bandage off and pulled about 7 sutures clean out. Not too much to be done... it IS closed, but still raw. Our appointment is tomorrow but I have a feeling she will still need to be bandaged for a little longer yet, and still on house rest. Am I the good one now? All I do is pee on the floor when I'm happy. ![]() I'm really sorry.... ![]() Please don't come back with those bandages. ![]() Trying to hide like an ostrich. ![]() But it's looking better Venice! Kind of... even with your Dr. Death suture removal. ![]() Nurse Claire really speeds things up by tickling the remaining paws. ![]() Has a sad. ![]() I went to a lumberjack competition yesterday.... I liked all the yelling and woodchopping and people to meet. When people cheered I joined in. Everybody said I was a really cute Weimaraner. A couple people thought I was a really cute lab. ![]() I said nope, I am a pit bull, you can tell because I savagely kill foosball men with my gas.

Poor Venice. No wonder you has a sad.
It looks like it's healing good though. My vet tells me point blank there is almost no point in putting a cone on any of my dogs becuase their long noses can reach anything they want, cone or no cone. ![]() Claire is seriously adorable. She is your foster right?

he is maybe irritated of the bandage so kept pulling it out but I think the wound is healing well. I think you should let him rest in you house and he must not overdo those arms or the cut might open again.

Thanks all. Yes, Claire is my foster. My bratty, screamy, pee-machine foster. I actually do love her, I promise.
Yes, she doesn't like the bandage, that's for sure. We have a vet appointment this evening so I'll discuss other options with the vet then. Venice says thanks for pitying her, and Claire says thanks for thinking she's cute! |
