Frodo can compete in AKC, but as far as I know Siri will only be eligible for ASCA tracking. Which happens like, never. I wish there was another option!

PWC, if you're planning on spaying Siri, you should be able to get an ILP on her as a Parson's Russle and do AKC tracking. It's only the mixed breed dogs that can't do tracking, ILP dogs are eligible.

Of course if you're not going to spay her then, yeah, not much help, lol.

I add articles as soon as the dog/puppy has a solid down. I end the track with one. When the puppy smells it, I ask for a down, then reward on the article. I fade the asking as soon as I can.

i teach articles in my living room and when I can toss one on the floor and they down with it between their paws, I go outside and do 5-10 in a short straight track just down, reward, 2 steps, down reward, etc. Do that for a few days, then they're on the track

For at least a couple of years she will remain intact, until we see how she turns out

Plus, from what I've heard, if you register with AKC it negates your registration with JRTCA? And terrier games are more important to me than tracking! Fun factor!

I do Tracking/Trailing with Hawkeye in the AKC and ASCA and we are also a K9 SAR Trailing team with a local organisation.

How often do they have ASCA tracking in the Midwest? I was looking at their calendar and it was like...non-existent. Maybe I was looking in the wrong spot though? *crosses fingers*

I'll just have to get more into ASCA! Their agility split from NADAC a few years ago so it's not that different!

I got into an ASCA tracking test at our nationals held in Wisconsin a couple years ago. Sadly there is normally not enough interest in tracking tests for the local ASCA member clubs to take the expensive risk of holding a test. Holding a test costs at least $200 for the club then they need to make a profit so lets say $75 per TD entry and they can have a max of 10 entries at the test, being more realistic we'll say 6 entries. So that leaves them with an income of $250 ONLY if every entry spot gets filled.

I may have to try and talk my club into holding a tracking test now that I'm a member, the Outback Australian Shepherd Club.
