We never really have, and now I'm starting to think we should.....

We used to, but then they stopped picking up recycling here, so...

Yeah, I don't even have a trash can. I put my little bit of non-recyclables in a cereal bowl and take it out to the dumpster once or twice a week. I'm going to start a compost bucket soon. Just have to get the motivation/energy/unlaziness to do it.

Yep! Portland is really great about picking up pretty much anything that you could ever imagine could be recycled. #1-7 plastic, plastic grocery bags, any color glass, pots and pans, empty aerosol cans, aluminum foil, tin or aluminum cans, hard cover books, paperback books, pizza boxes, milk and juice cartons, cereal boxes, pretty much any cardboard or paper you can think of. There's really no excuse not to recycle here. You just put it next to the trash and it gets picked up!

We recycle most big cardboard boxes because I get a lot of stuff shipped to me. A lot of paper products since I'm a student and have tons of paper everywhere.
Not so much plastic because we don't have a bin for it in the complex and rarely anything else. Oh we also don't compost even though our community is encouraging it a lot.

Yes, it seems my city picks up dang near everything... including yard waste for community composting.
