As for being stolen: I'd just post up my address to drop Wesley off at when they couldn't stand him any longer. I'd say it'd take 2 hours max.

In all seriousness, offering a reward for a lost dog-not more than $500, probably less. I feel like people are either going to catch your dog or not, and raising the stakes that high won't really help your chances. But yeah, sad to think about.

Well I don't have the means to give away thousands of dollars sooo unfortunately for my dogs there is not much that I'd even be able to pay. Not sure why anyone would want to steal any of my dogs, anyway!

I can at least charge vet bills to a credit card if need be.

Because it is one of my biggest fears, I have thought of this a lot. Saxon is not "just" my pet, but also my service dog in training. He is extremely important to me and I can't imagine losing him. I would pay as much as I possibly could. I'd probably start with a reward of $1,000 and go up from there. I would also probably set up a chip-in, in case people wanted to donate towards the reward. If, when he was returned, the people who found him wouldn't accept the reward (which I probably wouldn't if I found a dog), I would donate all of the money raised by others to an animal rescue organization.

In response to the actual question. I would absolutely pay any amount I possibly could. I could not/would not be able to NOT know what's happening to my pets.

This is how I feel as well.

I wouldn't advertise a reward higher than $500, though, I don't think.

I think having a pet lost/stolen would be the absolute worst - not knowing where they were, if they were alright, if they were being taken care of, etc, would be so much worse than losing them to an accident or illness. I would do anything possible to get them back.
