Thank you! I'm really happy to hear your opinion on that last shot. I had mixed feelings - a combination of "hmm, I like it!" and "I'm probably being stupid and should toss it altogether"

Well. I didn't play with the canon, but that's ok because I really liked how this one turned out from my camera! I haven't looked at my faster shutter speed/high ISO yet because I'm scared to, but here's my low ISO/slow shutter speed shot!

Stinkin' lens glare got in the way.

I have tried various shots all week...

Back of the barn (that's Sis' fat horse, aka the Air Fern). Wanna talk about lens glare? Have I got one for you! 100iso, f8, 15sec.


1600iso, f8, 1/2sec


Experimented with an indoor shot with candles... See? I can get lens glare with a little candle! 100iso, f11, 20sec


Finally took these tonight, wasn't exactly the location I had in mind but you know what happens to best laid plans...
100iso, f11, 15sec


800iso, f8, 1/2sec

Love the angle here, plus the star-light!

Okay Adrianne, is there anyway to get rid of/avoid lens glare like is showing up here? Is there some trick? Because I've struggled with this problem before, generally I just edit it out, but I would love to know if there is some secret photography skill that would eliminate glare when shooting!

I think mine might be caused by the UV filter on the lens, I'm sure that extra piece of glass wasn't helping at all. I didn't think about it until I got home though and I will not be going back out there, it's cold as sh*t.

I have it on AWB. I can adjust it in lightroom, but didn't for this challenge. I didn't edit anything. The lights were very yellow in real life though

Running super late, but I wanted to go back and get some photos done and hopefully stay caught up this time!

This was taken on a bridge over the world's largest skating rink during our winter festivities. I wish I was more to the left, but I couldn't get there without risking danger
