You mention breeding dogs as a plus. Sarah can have more practical input on Staffords, but breeding a dog of ANY breed because it is BLUE is not a plus! BlueStaffords is a color breeder who is cashing in on the blue fad that is spreading through Staffords as bad as it hit APBTs. The fact that the litter wasn't registered, and you are probably in the UK, simply go back to the breeders you bought him from and see if your kennel club over there has a late registration program. Over here if the dog wasn't registered with UKC by a year then he can't be. AKC if the puppy papers weren't filed then you have no recourse with them.

He might be a stellar dog and perfect in every way but he is an unregistered pet. There is no reason to breed him, just love him for who he is and IF you decide to get active in the breed, search out the parent Stafford club where you live and study, do your time researching peds and dogs beyond their breeding use and start with registered stock under a mentor.

There's a lot to learn about breeding. As you know as well as I do, staffs are the most overbred dogs in the UK. Have you thought about going along to any local shows near you to speak to other staff breeders and exhibitors for advice?

Where abouts are you? There's a huge champ show on this weekend in Stafford (coincidence or what). Well, terriers are Thursday. You should go!! I'm going Sunday for the gundogs

His coloring is not even a little bit unique!! "Blue" is the fad color at the moment for the breed and in the UK, 50% of all staffords recently registered were blue, that's more than all other recognised colours registered added together! Blue to blue breedings also can cause a lot of health problems such as color dilution alopecia and skin allergies. Unregistered Staffords are a dime a dozen in the UK, just have a look on gumtree or in the paper. You definitely need to do a LOT more research before deciding to breed your dog!!

I'm from east yorks originally near hull!

Look on this website for show dates:

http://www.dog.biz/

And see what shows these clubs run:

http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/se...t.aspx?id=3080

If you love the breed, get involved in it. You'll probably change your mind about breeding quite quickly lol! Seriously though, its great you're doing a bit of research, wish more people would.

This is probably your closest club.

Some nice dogs there. They'll run their own shows too. Its good to get a mentor to learn from. Chaz has been mine! In all things dog, not breeding!

yes that is true, but my ty's mum was white and he's a different shade of blue when the sun hits its fur at the right angle he's got kind of like a purpley colour to him not like every staff see if been around staffs a good part of my life and i've seen some wierd colours but never anything likes ty's colouring and with his backround and bloodline he's a perfect stud yes unregistered are but im not looking to stud him to any idiot who wants a bit of extra cash! IF i do start to breed him it will be with a registered female so pups can b registered too! and findin the right female is gonna take time in its self so im not looking to do it like next month it would be 6 months minimum so gives me plenty of time for research!
