I wouldn't sweat it either. If it's summertime, perhaps find a teen that's off for the summer, or a mom or whoever in the area who can do a potty break. If you can't, you can't, that's life after all. The simple fact is people do have to work and get pups all the time and they turn out just fine. Heck, I'd love to stay at home full time with my dogs, but I'd have to feed them dirt and we'd have a lovely box on the street to live in. So, they get crated while I'm at work, or in an xpen (two are not good at 'leave it' in the house, one is fine with that but would get into trouble with the cat), they go for a walk in the morning, hang out, then go 'to bed' when we leave, and get out again when we get home to party.

If you make sure there's 'quality time' before and after work, it's all good. Sign up for classes, make every evening a socializing adventure (go to different puppy safe places, out for ice cream, festivals.....).

You guys are geniuses! Geniuses I say!

For those of you who used x-pens, did you get a top for it, or is it too hard for a puppy to climb out?

I never used a top but its not a bad idea if you have a puppy who climbs.
