I would not have wanted a home birth...I like to support the fine work of the people who invented epidurals. But, I think everyone should have (or attempt) whatever birth is comfortable to them

Got my neighbor a spa gift card thingy and some movie passes and she was really thankful

Fran, that's so sweet!

I would love to do a home birth in the future but I'll be too high risk for it. I'd really like to have some kind of non-invasive birthing center birth where I could get in a tub and walk around and use an exercise ball, but whether or not I get an epidural I'm sure I'll be hooked up to a million stupid monitors and IVs and crap.

Yes, that. Women should have many options available to them for birth and the education and support to choose whichever option fits them best!

Yeah, they can do whatever they want, but when my friend says she wants a home birth in a pool with only a few people... I can't help but be like "Lady, you crazy."

Lol! I hope I can be a good example for you I don't know a lot who have done it either, just two of my cousins who I hardly ever see, and a lady I work with her daughter is due this week and was planning a home birth with her first so I'm anxiously awaiting news from her!

However it all works out I am just happy to have a plan and people around me who I'm comfortable with. I'm looking forward to the experience no matter how it plays out!
