Can I just brag for one sec on Pepper? She's FOUR. I didn't do any clicker training with her when she was here before. I just started using the clicker with her here now. And she is picking up on this like lightning. At first I thought I was just clicking and clicking for backwards movement but she wasn't paying enough attention to start "getting" it, just sniffing around for treats... then I brought her out for the second round and it was obvious she was intentionally moving backwards. So yes, yes, she did get it. I'm just amazed by her brain.

Auggie and I had a two minute stare-down by the way. He remembers this trick but his new-found frantic dancing has taken over and rather than just stepping backwards he wants to dance backward and then dance and dance and then sit. I really hate this stupid frantic dancing stuff. I would like to trade the stupid frantic dancing for Payton's randomly offering a bajillion things at once please.

Go Squash!! I love the look he gives you as he's backing up.

Oh Traveler... I love how he's like "I know this has something to do with my butt.... but where does she want my butt to go?"

The shelties look fabulous!! So glad Pepper is getting clicker training!

So, I got this when I asked Sloan to back up....

I thought she knew this as well as Backup and Arnold but I guess not. Maybe we'll tackle this on my days off this week. I suck at these trick of the week games because of our living situation but I hope they're still on when we're moved and finally have a section off-able house (to hide from the rain) so I can participate.

Pepper looks great! It gets more obvious as the video goes on that she's doing it deliberately - comes in and makes sure she hasn't missed any treat molecules, then really deliberately looks at you and steps back.

That is cute! My Malinois does that. She doesn't compete in anything, though.

Here's Zander's first video! He's already pretty good with "Back Up", but I wanted to at least get the vanilla video up while I figure out how to video on the stairs and start everything else.

Sit Pretty, Spin, Turn, and Back Up...

I LOVE all of these videos! I love watching all of the shaping processes.

Lyzelle, every time I watch your videos, I find myself saying "Wow, Zander is big..." LOL!

Anyway, here's fleetwood's back-ups. I've been working on teaching him to back up between my legs, perhaps there will be a video of that soon!
