"I don't think that's the right one." "This is the one coming up on your account.... that you've been buying the last 2 years..." "That bag looks too blue. I thought it was more teal." "Well, it's the same name and item number as what we have on record so it should be right..." "Ugh fine, I guess I'll have to get this then." Gaaaahhhhh.

Hahaha this is cracking me up.
Okay the fish side of things... "I NEED A BULB/BACKGROUND/LID/ETC FOR MY TANK!" Okay, what size is your tank? Uh...about...this big.. makes a box with their hands. Okay if you are planning to come to my store to specifically buy something like an aquarium hood, you didn't think to measure and/or figure out what size tank you have?? Or people do measure and they measured like 29 3/4"..and they argue with me that the 30" won't fit. No worries guys, it will, trust me, it's fine.

Not Skittle, but oh my god, I'm always almost reluctant to tell people what I do because it's ALWAYS "Oh that must be SO MUCH FUN!" Yeah because I get to sit on the floor cuddling puppies all day. Please. I love my job but most people would be absolutely appalled by the things I have to do.

When I worked at the pet hotel... omg, I can empathize with ALL OF THESE! People are carayzay. -__-
My least favorite part of being a manager was telling people that their dog bit a person or another dog. Just, painful. Excruciatingly painful! Some people have a brain in their heads and apologize profusely, ask for advice, face reality. But a lot of people would argue with me. "NOT MY CHARLIE!!!" "Umm yes, he did. He's not a bad dog, we lovehim. But we'll have to restrict him from group play..." "That other dog/person must have provoked him!" "Well, even so, it's not good for him to instantly resort to biting. Working with a trainer will really help--" "Excuse me?!? I do train him! I watch the dog whisperer and I got him that prong collar!" *lesighhh* People want to blame anyone but themselves, and their dog suffers for their ignorance. Even people who bring their dog in, lunging and barking at other people/dogs, are completely shocked when their dogs reactivity results in a bite. I hear a lot of terrible excuses like "he's a rescue!" yeah, you rescued him 3 years ago. Time to face the issue and at least manage it and be honest about it. "He's only like this because a dog attacked him as a puppy!" instead of babying him, actually teach him not to be afraid of other dogs. Or manage his behavior, and stop treating him like a perfect little angel. Just because he got attacked doesn't make it ok for him to do the same to other dogs now. I'm still shocked by people who act like their dogs are beloved and spoiled, and they feed Dog Chow. C'mon now! The information is OUT THERE! What excuse can you possibly have for not realizing that is crap food, if you call yourself a dog enthusiast? This super rich woman would bring in her Golden Retrievers, and forget their food all of the time. We would offer to feed them our house food for free (Science Diet), but she would insist that we go into the store and pull an enormous bag of Dog Chow for them. I tried over & over to explain to her that SD was not the best, but it's way better than Dog Chow! Never convinced her of that. So many people were like that and made me want to pull my hair out... "Nope, he can only eat Alpo! I swear by it!" Wow, really? You think he's in top condition with his coarse, yucky coat, yellow teeth and disgusting odor? Okayyy On top of those, I despise... * People with leash reactive dogs who INSIST on them meeting your dogs! Wtf, bro? * People who ask for training advice over and over, but proceed to not even listen to you every time. * People who let their dogs pee all over merchandise, walls and the floor. At Pmart once, $500 in bolster beds were ruined by one Great Dane pissing all over them repeatedly!!! People either look away, or laugh and shrug. They never clean it up. Not even their dog's ****. Keep your dog close to you! Don't let them wander around aimlessly and not pay attention to them! Let them **** outside! Seriously... * People who think that because it's a pet store/hotel, they can just drop the leash and let their dog run amok. Only Fozzie is allowed this luxury. * People who get pissed at you because their dog has poo on their butt (boarding pet peeve)... of course, we clean their butts if we notice that, but really it's not our fault! Get your dog on a better diet! Take them to their groomer to trim their sanitary area! They came in with poo on their butt, and you didn't pay or even ask us to clean it.

And the ones who get mad because you don't carry the Walmart/Petsmart exclusive brand. Someone got seriously angry we didn't have falconry gloves one time. Or people come in "Do you sell diapers?" Shows them the doggie diapers.. They give me a weird look.. "No..for human babies". Uh..no.

PW, you make me LOL
So this past Wednesday was my first day at work, which is a horse farm. We had this lady come in, probably 26-28 years old and she has a beautiful little girl, probably 3 years old. Well said lady has a 2.5 year old horse (that she just bought about 3 weeks ago and has seen it maybe 4 times, doesn't go pet her or feed her or anything, this lady has no interaction with this horse at all), that's not completely 100% broke to ride yet, never had kids on her back, just my boss has rode her a few times. Anyways, said lady comes to the barn and asks if I know where her horse is, I say yes and told her she could follow me on the Gator and I could take her to the working arena. So she follows me and we get to her horse. She gets out of her car and grabs a lead and halter, and starts to walk into the working arena. Me: "Ma'am please don't go in there. Your horse is sick (which she already knew this) and if you pet her then pet another horse, the other horse could get it" Her : "Oh no, that won't happen. Horses can't get sick by it being passed around like people do" Me: *insert wtf face here* "Yes ma'am they can" Her: "I don't know what you are talking about young lady. I've been around horses for the last 2 years and ride almost everyday, I think I know what I'm talking about" Me : *wtf face again* I call Ron, my boss, and he comes down there. They proceed to have the same convo her and I just had. She told Ron he has no idea what he is talking about. Ron has worked with horses for over 25 years, breaks horses, trains in barrel racing, can do farrier and vet work, etc etc. I've been around horses for over half my life and have worked with them for almost 5 years and have dedicated my life to knowing everything about them. This woman then asks if she could put her THREE YEAR OLD child on this horse that has never had anyone but Ron on her. I thought Ron was going to hit the ground laughing at this lady. He said no because it was to dangerous for the baby and the horse had never had a child on her back. To this, this lady said: "Well its my horse and I can tell she is very gentle. It will only take me a second to take the picture. Help me get my horse out of the arena so I can do it." I know it took Ron a good 15 minutes to tell this woman that her idea was very dangerous. She finally said agreed it was dangerous and left. I'm like... you are willing to put your child in danger to take a photo? Not worth it lady, not worth it.
