I was going to say the same thing about reward placement for Fromo! He's getting it though! Spin was seriously one of the more difficult things I've shaped.

DH has been working with Zander more, and he did spin in both directions for him last night. I was actually pretty surprised, he is usually pretty stubborn about going in the other direction. I trained it with a lure, though, so that could partly be why.
I'm hoping to get a video either tonight or tomorrow. Zane's been super sore the last few days and I've been giving him as much doggie massage lovin's as I can. Think we need a Chiro appointment sometime soon.

Abe is struggling with this one.
We started by reshaping a head turn which turned into him only wanting to do his "where's your pee pee" trick.

All together now!
![]() Yeah I totally lured these. But to be fair, I taught the original spin before knowing much about shaping. Even with the luring it's still one of their stronger behaviors.

I love the synchronized spinning LOL.
No Pepper in this one - I think I may stop trying to teach her this for a while. This I think is just too difficult for where she's at in her thinking development, and it's just frustrating us both.

Nice job, Beanie! Looking good!
Boone's progress: I think that about does it. All I need to do now is improve his speed of response and increase the speed of the actual spin itself.

I think I need Lily and Boone immediately.
Pip does the same thing as Lily - head turn, then bail on the spin. He's getting much better though. For some reason, Pip is really jolly about this trick - he wasn't very enthusiastic about sitting up so I kind of bailed on that one with him. God I love Payton's little happy butt. Anyway, here we are today, hand signal a bit reduced. Maisy is the best at the hand signal so far -- I wish I had been taping when this happened, but one day when her turn was over I pointed at the futon for her to hop up and she threw in a little spin before she got up there. |

Can next week's trick be to remove the lid from some kind of box, basket, garbage can, etc? I just saw a really cute opening-a-picnic-basket-via-nudging video and I want to teach that!
