What's a "true" 5? Either it's a 4, 4S, or a 5. An iPhone 4S with iOS 6 is still an iPhone 4S. I don't think she mentioned which she got, just that it was new.
I have a 4S on iOS 6. Email is glitchy sometimes, but I use Gmail, not Mail.

I have a 4s and I'm running whatever it came with - I don't think iOS6
I never use my google account and don't even know the info. So now it's between using iCloud (and updating my mac OS to mountain lion via the app store for $20) or sucking it up and using my google account.

The platform is what makes it "like a 5" right now my phone can do everything a 5 can but its technically a 4 what I meant by a "true 5" was is it the newest one lol.
