My DH likes more common names as well, whereas I prefer a bit more original but not totally out there. We've been able to agree on a few so far which is good, but he throws out names like Lindsey and Rebecca and he can't understand how I see those as 'common'.

Exactly! I'm going to use my labor pain to "convince" him that it's the name.
On another tangent, has anyone suffered from sciatica pain this early? (13 weeks) What gave you relief?

I pretty much already had my names (or at least a top 5) picked out, so I didn't have to rule anything out.
A ton of those names in that article that are no-nos are names I really like, though!

I'm grateful that DH and I both only like traditional, familiar names. I like what our friends did--they took the SSA's list of most common names, threw out the top 50, and chose from the next 150. Well known, but not overdone that way. (and NO, not preggo! Just lurking!) |

Thought this was interesting about Vbacs and breech babies.

THe only name Tyler wanted I said HELL NO to was Boone and thats because it reminds me of the chaz dog Boone. While Boone is so cute I would constantly be thinking of those long ears and hound like face.
I love crazy names. People always screw up Briggs' name. They call him Brig, Braggs, Brunk... wait, repeat that again? And then ask me why his name is Briggs. They are never happy when I say I just liked it. It has no big elaborate meaning. But, on the same note I like more typical names too. My second is named Blake because I like it. I prefer short, very strong/manly names for boys so thats what I went with. Also, if no one has noticed all my boys start with B's. Bandit, Briggs, Brobee, Blake...
