Do dogs act differently with the cold weather? He tends to only go to bathroom off-leash unless I walk him for a long time. I usually just let him off at the beginning of a block and back on when we are approaching an intersection. He's so good that if I stop he stops with me.

Recently though, he has been just stopping like he wants to go home and so we go home on leash. Just now though he ran diagonally across the intersection of my block. He has NEVER done that before and I don't understand why. Anyone else notice different behavior due to cold weather?

Well, he is not getting off leash again unless at a park and it looks like he will be back on the Easy-Walk harness along with more training sessions.

Thanks for any help!

My Boxer is definitely worse when the weather gets cold. I don't know why, because she has gotten more off leash stuff since we've been back from CO.

She's gotten so bad about avoiding coming inside that she can't go out off leash anymore. So no, it's not just you. :)
