*snort* Yes, Aussie people for the most part are pretty chill compared to BC people. Unless you bring up Hangin Tree. A lady at Nationals drove up her golf cart to me while I was watching my mentor's agility run with a (then, very very ugly) 6 month old Rave and asked "What lines are behind your blue bi bitch?" (poor Raveh Rave, everybody thinks he's a girl). I replied "It's a dog, 3/4 Hangin Tree and 1/4 Windsor." And she just laughed and drove off.

Oooh where's he from? Maybe it's cause all the Aussie people I know have working bred dogs. Not sure. They seem very live and let live as far as other lines go.

He's from Apropos. His sire was from Windsor out of the Black Bear/Sliver cross, and his dam was bred by Starstuff.

I'm not wild about any working breed being bred for the conformation ring and the conformation ring alone, but the world is a different place now and conformation is a game people want to play with the dogs they love.
Yes!!!

I'm not signing away my papillons to get one of your dogs.

I love BCs but I've run into (online and in real life) sooo many crazy people in the breed. And sooo many snobby people in the breed.

I swear I'm not really that crazy... Just passionate

On the other hand, banning a color that is normally seen in a breed simply because the folks who wrote the standard don't like it or whatnot...yeah then I'm right there with you.
I guess what I'm saying is that say you have a dog that is perfect in every way except it's the "wrong" color (I know there's no such thing as a perfect dog but this is hypothetical). So is it really wrong to use said dog because he/she is a disqualified color? As far as I'm concerned you should be able to use any dog you want in a breeding program if they're sound in every other way but it's color because that's one more dog you can use to help improve the breed and I think many breeds need all the help they can get.

I swear, aren't there enough things out there in the world to get upset about that people don't have to go looking for things other people do to get mad about.

I've always found those silly civil wars in breeds so silly and it doesn't seem like any are exempt from them, though the severity seems to change. I was on the BC forum for about two seconds before I had to leave, and I don't even have a horse in the race. It was so off putting and sad to see so much anger and hate for people who all love the same breed.

Regardless, OwnedByBCs, you have some gorgeous, talented and versatile dogs. Even if they're fake Border Collies.

I logged in after x amount of time off this forum for this post.
Nailed it!
I really want my next dog to play in conformation, and my future pup's mama is a British import who is *gasp* Blue Merle. She has produced blue eyes. I think the amount of wank generated from the mere idea of her being imported would fill a book.
I hope you filled out the club survey thing they have going around? I suggested that they hire a genetics expert
