Breast feeding your DOG?

One of my first thoughts was how did she even get the dog to do that lol I mean really after being weaned I don't think my dogs would have any idea how to suck on anything. So freaking odd.

There's lots of people round the world who legitimately breastfeed animals.... I was reading something not that long ago... It was women feeding fawns in India I think.

Why is this gross to all of you but a human baby doing the same thing isn't (& yes, I find this just as uncomfortable & awkward as if it were a human baby) but you guys don't? What's the difference? A mammal's a mammal, right?

Because its two different species. I’m weirded out by a dog nursing a human but I’m not weirded out by a dog nursing a dog or a human nursing a human.

Same reason it doesn’t bother me if a dog shoves his nose up another dog’s butt but if a dog shoves his nose up my butt I do mind. And if I saw some strange human shoving their nose up a dog’s butt I’d call the men in white coats.

You breast feed a baby because that's how they eat.

I'd be creeped out by a grown human breast feeding... That pug is an adult dog as well.

Yeah there are ladies in New Guinea that breast feed the weak piglets of the litter sometimes right next to their own babies.
I just don't see how you can say that human breast feeding is ok while animal breast feeding is gross isn't that a little hypocritical? I bean ill say any breastfeeding wiggs me out, even this.

You’re missing the same species part.
Human baby nursing human mom -> not weird
Puppy dog nursing dog mom -> not weird
Grown dog nursing human -> definitely weird

Context matters too.
Raw fed dog barfing and eating it -> gross but tolerable
Kitty cookie eating dog barfing and eating it -> intolerably gross
Human barfing and eating it -> Call the white coats again.

Oddly, if she pumped the milk and fed it to the dog I don’t think it would bother me. But then as a sleep deprived mom of twins, I learned to look the other way when a baby spat up and a dog got it cleaned up before I did.

Heck if it was a PUPPY or a baby animal I wouldnt do it but meh its a baby and it needs to be fed but a adult DOG is not MEANT to eat milk and they do not NEED to nurse.

It's perverse because she isn't doing it because the dog needs milk. You breastfeed your kid because they need it. You might breastfeed a fawn or other nursing animal, especially if you live in an undeveloped area where you can't just summon up a bottle and some milk replacer.

If you are breastfeeding an adult dog in the USA, I can't help but think you find it gratifying in some way. Which is weird.

Uhhhh.... because a human baby is meant to nurse off it's mother? That's just how nature made things? O.o

Just like I wouldn't put a human baby up to a dog and have it nurse that way.

The fact that you even think a dog nursing off a human is the same as a mother feeding her child completely baffles me and escapes all logic.
