Walk for victims of Pit Bulls and other "dangerous breeds"

This is more of a vent than anything. I can't believe something like this actually exists.

Anyone can put up a blog. Their FB page has 130 likes, which is well behind important things in life like lolcats and people who believe little green men are running the country (no, I did not check).

Tucson Police Officers WILL BE present at the Walk to ensure safety, and Animal Control will be present to escort any unruly visitors off the property and confiscate any Pit Bulls or Other Dangerous Dogs

Except Tucson does not have BSL so....

That's what I said. Infact, Tucson is over run with Pit Bulls.

In anycase, the event is real. How successful it will actually be is another story.

Why don't they just have a walk for victims of dog bites? Are some dog bites more worthy than others?

This is just more evidence that the certain brand of crazy that Arizona sometimes produces is really whoa.

I'm confused because the listing of children attacked (which is very sad) includes a baby who was KILLED by the family's retriever?

And then there's another area at the bottom for "statistic of dangerous dog bites" which says Presa Canario is another name for Bullmastiff?

There's also a picture of the fence through which the FOUR YEAR OLD playing outside being supervised by a SEVEN YEAR OLD was mauled. It says 8 dogs were behind the fence...none of them in the picture are pit bulls. I suppose it's possible there were two random pit bulls, but I'm kind of doubting it.

But this is Tucson! Land of the animal shelter that labels ANYTHING with a smooth coat as a pit bull. Including the pure bred neo, bloodhound, and black and tan coonhound.

Longer coated dogs are all shepherd mixes. Unless they have drop ears. They they're pit mixes.

Of course! Pitties leave worse bites because they lock their jaws and attack for no reason. I read it on their website.
