Sort of this. I tend to wait and see what the puppy is going to be like. But I do have the basic stuff (waterbowl, food bowl, a couple of toys and a generic collar). Collars and leashes, most toys and stuff of that sort, I wait to get until I've atleast met puppy or have puppy. I learned my lesson with Ivan, I spend a bunch of money one nylabones and chew type toys and he never chewed on them. So I tend to wait and see what things they are going to like. I might get 1 toy before hand to see if they like that style.

Papillion. So. often. Even the animal planet link on youtube for their dogs 101 video has it spelled that way.

Keeshond is another one of those that gets misprounced more often then not. I used to pronounce it KEY-shund or KEYS-hund ran at an allbreed agility trial hosted by a Keeshond specialty and they made it their mission to make sure we should all pronounce their breed name correctly by the end of the weekend lol.

But yeah I think I'm fine pronouncing Mutt . Or Golden Ditzhund and Flying Valley Batdog. And Flat-Coated Retriever isn't one that get mispronounced so much as it confuses people and they sub in other words...Flat-Footed...Black-Coated...Flat-Headed...lol

See that's funny because I notice some people pronounce it like border cOllie, as in the 'o' is pronounced like it is in the word "go".

Or what gets me is "he's half pit bull and half terrier" which I hear CONSTANTLY because shelters list them as Pit Bull Terrier X and people just can't wrap their heads around that.

A lady once told me that Baxter was an adorable "BITCHIN' FREEZE" and she had two at home just like him!

There's a lady that brings her papillon to training classes in the same building that I work in. She always refers to him as a "Papi-lion", the last I checked he was a dog and not a species of big, predatory cat!
