Generally, I agree with you, but that one might have been on purpose. It's one of the jokey/cutesy names out there for retrievers... others I've hears are dam-nation for dalmation, rottenweiler for rottweiler... I'm sure there are others but can't recall any more off the top of my head.

I don't think so. Just the way he said it and then went on to need help getting EVERYTHING for this Golden Receiver, if it was a slip then he slipped about 10 times before leaving the store.

Which brings me to my other pet peeve. If you KNOW that you have a puppy on the way, WHY do you wait until you literally have it in your arms to buy ANYTHING for it?

with dogs I don't own and am not familiar with.. I am guilty when it comes to mis-pronouncing.
Cane corsos, Boerbels and a few others I know I have been corrected in the past lol

but I agree, if you OWN this dog, make the effort and know how to pronounce the breed!

Breeders? There is no excuse. Everyone has keyboard slip-ups but you shouldn't have "Australian Sheppard" 10 times on your website.

I also never understood this.
I mean, sure, a pet store trip to get a collar you are sure fits or a toy or two can be fun for socializing.
But isn't a new puppy stressed enough without heading STRAIGHT to the pet store to buy everything and then have to go to a home that isn't even set up for him/her yet?

and why do people buy crates at big chain pet stores? You know that $120 crate is on amazon for like $50 right?....

I know, I have no clue why people buy crates from us, they are WAY overpriced. But people need it TODAY because they have the dog NOW, lol.

I guess with some breeds, like Keeshond or people pronouncing a French name with an American pronunciation or something, doesn't really bother me. It doesn't bother me if people who don't own the breed say it wrong, at least they know what it IS.

And as far as spelling and stuff...it depends on area and upbringing, too. If I go into Spanish Harlem and someone's talking about their rockwiler...whatever. If it's taken care of, I'm glad they can spell "dog" and are able to afford to feed to it and managed to get a basic education on dog care in a place where education isn't that easy to come by.
