I prefer stalker thank you very much.
I know for me I don't post a lot because getting words from my brain and into actual sentences I get all wibber wonky and come across as a spaz and make things more confusing than it actually is. And I'm too busy chasing the dogs around going "smooshy smooshy smoo"!!! But seriously, I just don't often have much to say that hasn't been said already. I'm much more active in chat.

I mostly lurk because I'm not great at conversation :/
Everyone on here's so witty, and I'm really not, and I can be pretty obnoxious and awkward, soooo....I just stay quiet.

I'm not the best conversationist either. I still feel like I'm getting to know the feel of this place. But I do love it. I love the varied opinion, I love levels of knowledge, I love reading the lively debate. I love the photo thread. But I just don't think I have a great deal to contribute.
Occasionally I get chatty.

To be honest, I can hardly remember the last post I made outside of the photo forum (and this thread), and it couldn't have been less than a week ago! I figure if my posts aren't memorable even to me, no one else would really notice, either. I actually surprised even myself with my post count. I'll be sure to make a more conscious effort to post from now on!

I "lurked" for almost 7 years before I actually joined this forum. What made me come out, was someone had a problem with a dog that I felt I might be able to offer advice, I initially had asked Sizzle to send her a PM for me from another forum, she ignored my request (I'm sure as a plot to get me to join
) so I joined and answered myself.I still lurk for numerous personal reason, the largest, I'm busy! Yep, I'm pulling that card, because mostly it's true. Biggest problem is, I just don't have the time these days to write my mind, I've never been a person to just write "cute" or "wow" or just "congrats", but on the other end I really don't have the time to write things out, and from past experience of being put down because people misconstrued my small cut down messages, I found it easier and less stressful to just not say anything, and if I have the time, I'll write it out and post. Oh heck, I'll be honest I'm timing this and it's taken me so far 10 minutes and counting writing and grammar/spell checking just this message! You should be seeing an increase (slight) however from me since I gave up another forum, and I would like to say a big thank you to the mods here for not being censor crazy troll huggers (the others who left there and followed me here (sorry! I honestly didn't mean for that to happen!) know what I'm talking about).

Mainly because I'm lazy and typing takes effort :P
Also usually I'm on my phone or I don't think I'm actually making sense when I type and then I delete the whole thing. And the main thing is that I have no spare time whatsoever and I'm either busy or sleeping lol. Seriously usually my only time to check Chaz is on the bus in the morning. Even now I should be doing other things! |

I do keep telling her too! And I told her she needs to start using the New Posts button, because right now she is lurking in the nutritional section trying to gain info on the freaking adorable puppy that she is maybe adopting (a Dalmation mix, so she's looking at how to feed with their liver issues)! She did say that she's spent hours on here though. Muahaha! So maybe she will stick around! |

To all you lurkers (and even me occasionally) who think you don't have anything to give or you are worried you'll come off as *fill in the blank*....one thing to think about, which is easy to forget, is that even if something you say or post isn't taken how you'd wish it would be or whatever, or you're worried it won't, you stand a good chance (better than you think) of saying something, some little word or phrase, one little thought no one else came up with or saw at that angle... that does something for someone in some way...little or big. Sometimes you don't realize it, but something only you (because you're all unique) might have to say will make a marked difference in someone's life. Or their dog's life. You just never know.
Keeping quiet because you're unsure or worried might be a mistake. Maybe what you could have written might have enriched someone in some way, be it small or large. Don't hold back too much. And chances are no matter what, you'll probably do more good than bad. I know sometimes we get heated and say rotten things, but over all, I'd say this is a pretty good group. And the more you join in, the more fun and interesting it gets. Of course, there's a rare exception, but it really, truly is extremely rare.
