I have two cats and two dogs. As for who is easier, it comes down to personality.

Buddy, my 12 year old pitbull type is a dream. She is honest to God the easiest dog to own ever. She is low energy, low shedding, low maintenance, naturally well behaved, she's just awesome.

Obi, my boxer mix is an incorrigible meat head who constantly keeps me on my toes, both figuratively and literally. He's high maintenance.

Tonka, my male cat, is awesome. He's affectionate and cuddly and gets along well with everyone else in the house. His fur sheds less than my female cat, he has no medical issues and my only "complaint" with him is that he kneads my arm in his sleep. I solved this using Soft Paws. In hot pink.

Mess, my female cat, is the reason people don't like cats. She will show affection once a month or so, but over do it on the petting and she will bite you. She has had horrible, awful, chronic and severe rhinitis/sinusitis caused by some URI virus and constantly leaves globs of mucus in awesome spots-- like my pillow. (yes, I realize this isn't her fault. It doesn't make it any less nausea inducing when you have cat snot in your hair...). She also hates Obi. She will hiss and growl every time he walks into the room. And I'm horribly allergic to her.

Also, litterboxes suck but I HATE when other people let their cats roam and mine are strictly indoors. The only thing worse than cleaning the litterbox is finding a random cat poo in your flower bed. OR pulling a random cat poo out of a foster puppy's mouth...

Dogs all the way are 100 % easier than cats!

I would take 10 dogs to 1 cat anyday!

Right now I have my Mother staying with me due to her health and she has a cat. It drives me bonkers. It is super needy, always in the way. I trip over this cat daily. I wake up and she is laying on my chest staring at me! I think she is planning my early demise, but can't be sure. She is awful bossy too demanding to be fed, demanding attention, demanding playtime.

Aside from mentioning she doesn't know what she's doing *for any lurkers who may have stumbled onto Chaz looking for info* we should probably just ignore it.

Am I the only one who finds carrying a poop around in a bag for 1/2 hour while on a walk more gross than scooping a litter box?

I really don't find scooping the litter box gross.. probably because I've had cats for 10+ yrs. now. I use Worlds Best litter and that stuff is awesome!

For me it's kind of a nonissue. I live in the country so aside from making sure she isn't going in a well traveled area I don't touch her poop.

On occasion when I take her to the city with me there is always trash cans. Yoshi will go on command if she needs to so I'll go within seeing distance of a trash can and have her go.

I've never had to carry the poop for more than a minute or two and even that was just 'get in bag and tie' compared to the poop mining you have to do in the litter box

I think I would find that gross.......but we are never far enough from a trash can to carry it around that long, LOL I do think I've mentioned Orson prefers (and does his best) to only poop at home in his kennel. We take bags on our walks (in town) just in case........but again, trash cans are normally close by.

I tie Bandit's poop bag to his harness and make him carry it.
