Fluent Behaviors

How many fluent behaviors does your dog have? Fluency has a few components but the piece I'm most interested in is consistency; the behavior is performed the same every time.

Uh, walking down the hallway to go outside is about the only thing he does with close to 100% consistency.

As soon as we get out the door into the hallway it is offered eye contact and check-in's through each doorway. Then when we come back through the door into the apartment he spins around because he knows it is treat time. That's more than one behavior, but it's about as consistent as we get.

Well, all of them, I guess. I mean, she does the exact same thing for every command -- ignores you.

I love her. Shamoo regularly convinces me she's deaf until I scoop kibble.

Frodo does "Park It" pretty consistently, doesn't he?

Bailey's most fluent behaviors are "spin," "twist," and her sticky chin target. Heel position is consistent, if she's working. She doesn't engage in heeling as she does when asked to do the three above behaviors.

Buzz's most fluent behavior is foot targets, I think?

As long as he can find it without going through my legs the wrong way and getting stuck in the backwards cycle
I'd say he gets it the first time about 75% of the time.

Backups least fluent would be his out. His most fluent however would be his weaving whether in poles or between my legs, his go out, his spinning left and right, and his finish around. Basically any fun motion behavior and B is reliable but he has a lot of trouble with slow and mundane things, except he has a rock solid stay in any position- thus the gumbi nick name. Then again he will throw you for a loop any given day with a new quirk so you never know what you'll get.

Arnold would be most fluent with heel, leave it, speak, get your ball(trained, he has no ball drive), and step back.

Sloan is pretty dang reliable in everything. She broke her down for the first time ever recently though so I'm cautious to say too much.

Zuma is really fluent in a lot of behaviors... almost everything I've taught her, I've taken the time to put on stimulus control (thanks KPA!).

Zinga is so not fluent in anything. Well her flip finish is actually her default behavior so that's close. Oh and I can reliably send her to her mat/crate.
