Rotten as the outcome is in this case, I've got to hand it to the defense attorneys -- and think that maybe the voters of this jurisdiction might want to look at replacing their DA. The DA got punked. That's why some of us keep hammering on the terminology, that it's a LEGAL system, NOT a justice system. It's not perfect by a long shot, and there are so many parts of it, from the juries all the way through to the judges, where things can go awry and justice is not served, but I'm not really sure how to fix it until we have incorruptible, infallible people who are able to journey back through time to observe and record exactly what happened and judges who are able to read minds.
