We have been giving a lot of stuff away to the charity shops. My friend does car boot sales, so we gave her a load of teapots to sell!

Well she just messaged me to say she was giving them a clean and has found about £2500 ($4050) in them!!!! Looks like its been there awhile. I can only imagine my other halfs grandmother was stashing it?!! It's probably out of circulation, but I think the bank of England will exchange old money for its face value, so could be a bit of a windfall!!

To think how much we've taken to the charity shops without looking inside!!!!!

That's awesome news Dizzy! I'm glad you gave them to an honest friend!

Try not to think of what you've given/lost to charity shops, LOL If you do think of it, try to imagine it went to someone who really needed it and it might have done some real good!

And FTR, the women in my family (mother, aunts, grandmother) do the same thing. It's like they only use the bank when there's no other choice, LOL My mother is very guilty of stashing cash in odd places ON PURPOSE.......robe pockets, old purses, SHOES! It's going to be an all out treasure hunt when she passes on going through her old things before getting rid of them!

Shame I probably won't see any of it as its my other halfs money really, it was his grandma... On the plus side he is an only child so won't have to share lol!!

Lots we could spend it on, so will come in handy!!!
