The natural toothpastes I've tried have been so chalky and hard to rinse out of my mouth even after rinsing with mouthwash, so I got off of them and went back to the crest 3D white stuff in the evening, and baking soda/peroxide in the morning.

I was fluoride-bombed as a child, had to do the stupid rinses every few days at school, but my teeth are okay despite it. My boyfriend on the other hand had braces as a kid and was fluoride-bombed and his teeth have a bit of spotting from the fluoride.

I definitely believe that fluoride is necessary for oral care. Everything in moderation. Too much of anything is damaging. I don't worry too much about the ingredients of my toothpaste since I do not consume it. Or not much anyway.

Pretty much that lol! I like the gels though in the clean mint flavour.

I remember in elementary school doing the pink pills along with a staining agent that they'd make us brush off. Oh and they made some of us go get sealant too, at the health unit though not a regular dentist...

My favorite is the Crest 3D stuff.

Plus I like the tube and box design.

I used to rant about the evil fluoride. Now I just keep it to myself. I think my toothpaste has fluoride in it, but I don't swallow.

Sadly, it is an Ohio law to have fluoride in the water supply. I'll be if you check your states' laws you will find the same.

Fluoride kills. Google it and find out about horses that have died from drinking fluoridated water.

"However in 2006 the National Research Council published research noting numerous adverse health risks of fluoride on humans, including disruption of the brain, kidneys and thyroid, bone fractures and joint pain (among others)."

Tom's of Maine Whole Care Fluoride Toothpaste. I like it because it's all natural with fluoride added. Plus not mint, which is amazing.

I just saw some of the weleda in the drug store here - have you tried a whole foods or trader joes? they're usually pretty good about that stuff.

I have to use specially formulated toothpaste from the dentist that costs like $20/tube. My teeth are SO sensitive that if I have to use regular toothpaste (or even just sensodyne) I will often skip meals because it hurts so bad to chew or deal with hot/cold. Even soft things like bread will hurt. So, Prevident Sensitive it is! So worth it for me.
