I think I read it was just some religious thing- like they were all worshiping this Heisenburg guy. The crawling was just part of their tradition or something or the other.

The crawling folks are followers of Santa Muerte. The devout in Mexico crawl to the shrine as a way of showing their faith.

Oh ok! That makes sense. Why were they worshiping Heisenberg? Or why was his picture in the shrine/temple thing? I am caught up to the last episode but that was something we never could figure out.

I don't think they were worshiping Heisenberg. I think they were offering his death as tribute or as a way to bless the act they were about to commit.
