Default Dr Pol... Not so Incredible?

Hey I have been watching this show on tv a few times but there were some things about it hat bothered me: there was one where the lady vet stitched a cow's stomach to the wall & didn't even shave the suture area, another was there was a tornado warning & they left a dog under anesthetic upstairs while everyone else went down the thr basement! This sparked me to google him & I found quite a bit of negitive stuff that I found pretty viable points (sorry I can't post them... I'm mobile right now & it's too hard to on a phone).

The thing with the cow is actually pretty normal, remaining sterile doesn't seem to be a concern in large animal medicine.

But yeah, in short he's just an old school vet that might have been "incredible" back in his day, but he hasn't kept up with modern medicine.

I find most tv docs (of any genre) to be totally full

I think he is someone's horse vet on the horse fourum I am on. Don't have the Chanel though.

What a small animal vet and my horse vet do varies greatly. I really miss my old school horse vet. He was much better than the newer guy many people would prefer.

Yep, it's pretty common to perform castrations (which in horses is surgical) at the barn barring any complications. The one colt I did see done at the barn was gelded right in the indoor arena.
