I hate seeing my dog stressed and anxious.
It's literally been thundering ALL day, it's now 7pm and it started a bit in the middle of the night, stopped briefly from maybe 10-12, and then started again. He has been getting more and more stressed over thunder in the past year. He paces a lot more panting and all, where he used to just go under the bed. And it used to be only the big booms that would send him scared, but now it's even a bit smaller ones that bother him as well. FINALLY though about an hour ago, he seemingly gave up and just laid down on the couch. He's been fine since, and there's still light thundering outside. I even walked with him outside and he went pee perfectly fine, so I guess it just took him all day, lol. I'm seriously considering getting some kind of medication for him even though summer storms are hopefully coming to a close soon here anyways.

Yeah, returned it
Didn't seem to do much... Thankfully he's extremely food motivated so I generally can deter him a bit with some chicken or cheese, but he's still very anxious and takes the food quickly. I hate that he runs from me too, he's not the type to want to be consoled or held, etc, so I just feel there's nothing I can do. It's best to ignore him, but just hate seeing him like that. It's so nice to see him laying down right now normally, and not seeming to care anymore.

Yeah, I was watching the radar all day today. It all went west of here, thankfully.
I know not everybody is, but I'm a big believer in drugs. Even when I don't get the drugs into Steve now he is still calmer about storms than he was, and I think that him getting Xanax most of the time is the reason for that. I love thunderstorms. It's such a bummer to have a dog who is upset by them :-/

A lady I do agility with has a very anxious lab and has had lots of success with a face wrap:
