Kim had another appointment with the voodoo vet in early July where they added stim to the acupuncture (after manipulating her spine again to be sure it was aligned).
She woke up the next morning feeling like a million bucks. And has been a real pain to keep "low and slow" ever since. Been working hard to keep her from running so her body could heal in the correct way. She had another appointment yesterday. Here's her waiting eagerly for the DVM to come to our room...she looooves her DVM. I put her in the stay on the table so she just stared like this for the fifteen minutes we waiting lol. ![]() By the end of the eval/appointment, we got the "all clear" to slowly start increasing her activity level, rebuild strength and condition, and generally move toward a return to normal activities

Hooray! I just caught up on your other thread and woooooow. I'm impressed that you're able to defend your choices without being confrontational (I have a hard time doing that) but that vet....just wow.
That's all I've got. Yay for Kim! Edit: I mean the traditional vet, not the voodoo vet. In case that wasn't clear. Lol.

Yaaaaay! I'm glad things are going well!! I've thought about adding acupuncture in for Auggie but our chiro DVM has never suggested it. I figure she would know better if he needs it than me haha. =P

I'm so happy to hear that she's feeling better! She does look really excited to see the vet in that picture!
I just read through your entire last thread (I missed it the first time around) and holy crap- I can't believe you were able to stay so calm!

Thanks guys, it's been a long road and isn't over yet. She really wants to go so keeping her at a slow build is hard...girl needs a good ZOOM to clear her head!

This certified acupuncturist kept a friend's Brittany running agility for her PACH (she just got it!!!!) despite spondylosis in which her spine is partially fused. Basically limited the progress of the disease, prevented further injury, and retained the flexibility she had remaining when the issue was discovered. To some degree I tend to think acupuncturists recommend their specialty, chiropractors their specialty, PTs, surgeons, etc....just like human doctors. But this person came extremely highly recommended by several people I know well who had dogs make full recoveries or who were able to manage issues with no/minimal meds after starting acupuncture. Kim is only 5...we'll see whether she runs agility again (and she may) but my first concern is making sure she is fully healed and able to live life to the fullest...I want her feeling good at 15, not crippled because I didn't address an issue immediately and completely and it became chronic! ...I've been quietly collecting references from all around town since then and...well let's just say Webby's annual checkup is coming up and we will be going to a different and highly recommended practice that supposedly takes a broarder view on the world. Like say ferinstance isn't prone to blaming an injury on a diet switch that occurred AFTER the injury just because they don't like the diet...you know, hypothetically...and are apparently solid surgeons and have a good reputation for handling emergencies too which is important to me, just in case!
