Is this book worth buying? Agility Right from the Start.
What the title says...
It's quite expensive here, but looks good.. I am a total novice at agility, so want something nice and basic. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1...F8&me=&seller=

Not sure about that book, but Frodo and I are working on foundations stuff at home and by far my favorite aid has been the AgilityNerd site.
He has tons of cool little games and ideas to use when getting started. I love that there are videos of everything because I'm very much a visual learner. Is this for the puppy? If so, I've heard really good things about Leslie McDevitt's new puppy book. It's focused on raising a performance puppy (I think, lol), and would be a good start

I'll look on there! Yes for puppy... I really want to join a good all round club, but the closest is about an hour away (I have emailed them for some info). I thought I can at least get some reading in while I wait and look.
The closest agility club is an hour from me.. there's gundog stuff closer, but I have no interest in that at all. It's nice living here, but you'd think it was outer mongolia sometimes, not the UK.

So far loving the agility book! Written in easy to read, simple language. Beginning of the book is right back to basics, but gets you thinking (if you're self taught like I am anyway!). Lovely philosophy and well argued.
Started on the other book too last night, and so far so good.

Loving both these books
 (yes I am reading them at the same time... sorta). The Leslie McDevitt one gives you a really different way of harnessing the environent as a training tool And I am really pleased to say that there are some techniques I have already used on Bodhi without even realising it!!! I can't wait to get started on teh puppeh (who still remains nameless!!!).

There's a great video rental company that has a complete line of video titles you can rent on agility training. I really like it because I find videos much more helpful than books (agility is a moving sport and there's nothing better than actually seeing the moves demonstrated). Since video purchases can get expensive, this is a great way to cut the expense. It works like netflix:
