Ugh, sorry. Sore throats are the WORSE! I've always done the honey/sugar thing, but it never helps me much.

We always do the hot salt water gargle thing, but once a sore throat gets that bad the effects seem very short lived. When I had a nasty sore throat this spring my doctor had the pharmacy mix up "magic mouthwash" (http://sprittibee.com/2010/04/magic-...e-throats.html <- interesting article on it). In my case it was a mix of nystatin, hydrocortisone, and generic allergy medicine. It worked AMAZINGLY well.
