Im no help but I glad Blue or Verde dont have prick ears, I wouldnt be able to take either of them seriously.

Ozzy's ears sometimes still stand up. I could probably permantely still make them stand if I wanted to tape them for six months. He ended up with a lovely set of tipped ears though. Collie people are jealous of them lol. He is hard to take seriously with his uppy ears. They stand up whenever he's super excited about something. At least until he decides to roooo roooo roooo at it.

Yeah, I saw this one photo of Gusto when his ears were still working out what to do, and thought "Oh please don't let them stay up."



His littermate, who looks a ton like him, has full prick ears. I definitely prefer his look.

Well, me personally I'm bias to semi-prick BC's, but that's just me.



Anyway, There are easier ways to stick up ears and harder, but I would also suggest waiting a bit. Enda unfortunately wound up being intolerant of the Vit C (still can't give her supplements with extra C in them), then her ears fell and one wouldn't come back up, so I broke down and started to tape them, then unfortunately again we had problems with breathrite strips, she was having a bad reaction to the glue on them, so YES, watch the glue and those ears! I finally after 2 months of looking found a store that sold the stoma glue and started using the mole skin and glue and that worked. Her one ear had a bend in it for the longest time, but finally after 2 years they both look nearly even now.

I would definitely recommend the Stoma glue, it stuck good but pealed off easy when it was time to change the mole skin and clean them.

I have experience with bracing ears on hairy puppies and they don't like it. It might be a bit different on a puppy with super short hair and little to no hair on the inside flaps. I glued my Collie's ears for what seemed like forever and he definitely did not enjoy having it done. Most of the Collies and Shelties I knew didn't. I very briefly braced my GSDs ears (although I think it wasn't actually necessary looking back) and having the braces in did annoy her on and off. It did many of the GSD puppies I've known who have had their ears braced too. Over the years, I've seen Danes and Boxers who had horrible reactions to the glue of the tape and it was obviously extremely painful for them. That isn't the norm obviously but it is within the realm of possibility.

I did consider bracing Savvy's ears so they would look a certain way and match but I'm glad I didn't. I'm sure he wouldn't have enjoyed having it done, considering he disliked pretty much everything about grooming as a young puppy. Besides, it was funny to see his ears going through all the wonky phases. I was pretty sure they wouldn't match but they pretty much do now, although one stands up sometimes when he's really listening. Very cute

So I'm not against the bracing/gluing/whatever but I'm realistic about it. It's done for us, not for the dog and the dog doesn't always enjoy the process (and with some dogs it can be a process that takes months).

In my guys (and the Georgie) the worst part of dealing with ears was just that they are expected to sit still for a few minutes while I glue. Expecting them to stay still is a special kind of torture. Beyond that it was really no big deal to them. I did let Auggie's go after a certain point and just let them do whatever they want... I kinda regret it now though.

Hmm, Blaze's were not up at 3.5 months, but they were by simi-up by 4 months, then the whole one up/both up/none up/one up routine for a while. But honestly I didn't really notice his ears being up all the time till past a year old.

If you want pricked ears, you have to brace them now. The cartilage is thickening at this age and once it develops a hard break, it is impossible to get them to stand.

Classic loooooved his ear taping times. It was mommy-puppy bonding time and he would more often than not fall asleep during the process. I did use a lot of adhesive remover to ensure that no hair was pulled while un-taping though. I can see how puppies would learn really quick to hate it if you don't do that, especially the long haired pups.
