Both of my dogs LOVE to chase other living creatures. They definitely see straight past balls but squirrels, cats, and even bugs they will go after like it's the best thing EVER. I'm not sure either of them would kill a squirrel if they actually got one.

Argon has currently nabbed a crow, a mockinbird, a sparrow, a snake, a possum, a rabbit, and a squirrel. Not bad for a dog who is either fenced in a small area or on leash at all times. You would be horrified if you saw him get a bird while on a 6 foot leash.
Gambit brought me a mouse one time. Since I failed to check is mouth after last call (the last time I failed in that respect), he left it on my pillow after I fell alseep. Charming.
