Cricket and I are going to try something new. The nearest dock diving club has a practice date scheduled for July 8. I just emailed asking for more information.
I'm hoping Cricket and I can make that date. She absolutely loves the water and she is an insane jumper so maybe this will be her calling. Regardless, she loves the water so much that I'm hoping this will be fun for her to try out. I figure with as hot as its been this would be a nice sport to try out. Anything I should know before we head to our first practice? What should we bring? What should we expect when we show up at the practice? |

AWESOME!
For dock time I usually bring my dog wearing a collar I don't mind getting wet, a short leash (rules for competition in dockdogs is no longer than 4' and some clubs enforce that in practice too), a couple different toys to try out (all need to float *well*), a lifevest if my dog is a newbie to the "real" dock, and lots of water and sunscreen! Depending on the club, a crate might be handy if there's a long line and it's hot.
