What does it mean when you multi quote someones message?

I've accidentally hit multi quote message on someones post and I totally didn't mean to. Since I'm still kinda new to the forum, I don't know exactly what it means when you multi quote a message. Is it something bad??? What does it mean?

It just means you want to quote that post and somebody else's in your site. So you could reply to both. Like:

The sun is hot

I agree.

The ice is hot

I disagree.

= multi-quoting. It means you can quote multiple people in your post instead of having to make a new post for every person you quote So if you are reading through a long thread and there are multiple quotes you want to respond to, you can click the multi-quote button on each one and at the end of the thread, if you hit reply, all the quotes will show up in your reply.

Oh, okay. That's a relief. When I accidentally hit that button, I freaked out a little because I was afraid I clicked on something I wasn't supposed to hit. LOL!
