I'm not talking about random strangers, I'm talking about invited guests. I don't really care what anyone does in their own house, I'm just saying that I would find it off-putting and probably wouldn't accept invitations.

Oh, well, yes, I agree with you then. When we're expecting someone, we're sure to either have Chloe put up or on a leash (or if we feel she'll get along with them right off the bat, we're at the door to greet them with her). We have a long drive and it is a dead end drive at that, so between the sound of a car and the dogs barking, we typically have lots of notice before someone can actually get out of their car and up to the door, even if the aren't expected.

I was reading your comment as, "I wouldn't want to go over to a house with a dog that would meet me aggressively/guardy at the door every time and the owner would always have to do X with the dog to get me to enter safely."

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. They don't hold invited guests at the door.....just people that walk in my door. I have a select few friends and family that always walk in...the dogs rush the door then realize it is someone they know and go all wiggly.

Not sure why you took offense to my post. No big deal to me cause I work hard to train them for reliable responses regarding the door.

When we expect people, I do the same thing Adrienne does with Rage. As long as we welcome them in & encourage friendly interactions she's fine. I have absolutely no doubt she would bite a strange man entering the house (women are fine, lol). Then she usually just lays around like the other three.

Ok. LOL Sometimes tone is hard to get when written. Especially if you aren't used to a persons writing style. No problems...I just didn't want people thinking I had a bunch if ill behaved dogs. LOL Well one is ill.behaved. LOL
