![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This was my lesson for the day. Had a woman come in with an 18 month old Mal today. Dog was freaking NUTS. Super sweet, but I'm pretty sure she needed to run a marathon or do SOMETHING. Woman was looking for some way to stop the dog from pulling her down the sidewalk. She kept getting out of her GL, so I helped her try on a Sporn head halter. When I touched the dog it was literally shivering with energy/excitement/?? Apparently this poor dog lives in an apartment and just gets leashed walks, but only occasionally because she pulls. Hopefully with the head halter the poor thing will get out more. I can't imagine what chaos that dog must cause. I felt super bad for them both, it is just a horrid match. And yes, I am calling all of you mal people abnormal

Did the Sporn fit better? I'm not the biggest fan of how Stan's Gentle Leader fits.
I won't comment on being abnormal! LMAO |

That is so sad for that dog
Not much of a life to live for a young, active animal.

I'm not a mal person, but my best friend Sam once said, observing Elsie's bonkers fun time after a 5 mile hike + long swim, "They make dogs like that on purpose?"

This is the one: ![]() I'm just hoping she doesn't get used to it right away and start pulling again. The woman really does seem to want the best for her, she was just very frustrated. We talked a little about training a LLW, or at least rewarding for being in place. She had been stopping, having the dog sit, and then rewarding when the dog was doing well. I explained that she was rewarding the sit, and that she needs to pop a treat in the dogs mouth as they are walking. She really had no clue on anything training related. I'm not even sure the dog knew sit. |

Poor dog.
Glad your help might get her more walks, but it will prob not take much of the edge off, especially after all the prior lack of exercise. I hope I'm wrong, but boy it sounds like a horrid match. I wonder where she got the dog.

She said her boyfriend bought her. She mentioned a few times that the dog listened perfectly for him. Then they split up and she got stuck with the dog.

Yeah :/
There are so many dogs I see at work that I am so tempted to just ask if I can have them. People amaze me. |
